Our B&B is located next to the Chugach National Forest and we would like to share our passion for hiking the great trails around the Girdwood area with you. Girdwood is located in the northernmost temperate rainforest and you can hike beneath the dense spruce and hemlock canopy or work your way up above tree line to the alpine meadows and the many wild flowers and views of the Mountains. This is Chugach National Forest hiking at its best.
Hiking is a great way to experience and see Alaska. We find most of our guests don’t hike because of a lack of experience hiking in a wilderness environment and fear of the wildlife such as bears and moose that populate our area. Michelle and I are experience hiker in our region and can help suggest hikes to your ability, relatively flat hikes which let you feel part of the rain forest or very strenuous hikes that get you up to the pass with beautiful alpine meadows and great views of the surrounding mountains.
